About Troy

Since my 2025 start at KTSY, I have discovered an incredible team and an incredible community of listeners!
I was born in Billings, Montana. Like many people, I developed a deeply personal relationship with music as a child.  I started breakdancing around the age of 10.  In my teen years, I started playing guitar and by my college years, I was playing bass in a three-piece alternative rock band.
Little did I know that at the age of 25, Jesus would capture my attention and forever change my life as I started prioritizing my spiritual journey with Him!
I left Missoula, MT in 1999 with little more than a backpack and a clear sense of calling from God to live with purpose.  My life in ministry since then has been an incredible adventure in Bible work, pastoring, entrepreneurial work, Christian publishing, and most recently, as chaplain for KTSY and Project Nation.  I also have the privilege of pastoring locally at The Experience Church.
I am so thankful to be part of the KTSY family and spreading hope through Christian music and community support. I am counting my blessings!

  • Best Advice I’ve Been Given: Fix your gaze on Jesus and your life will find its center.
  • Fun Fact About Myself: My first time being on radio was during a call-in contest for the best impersonation of Biz Markie’s chorus, “O baby youuuuu got what I need, but you say he’s just a friend…” My friend beatboxed while I sang. We were voted first place. 🙂
