As a mom, it’s hard to know what I actually want on Mother’s Day. This year, my family went above and beyond!

I received hanging baskets of flowers for the first time in years Wow!

My husband took me to the pickleball store and bought me a new pickleball paddle for a hobby I’m slowly getting better at.
But the gifts that take my breath away—the ones that make me reach for my heart because it might actually burst—are the ones made from the heart.
As cheesy as it sounds, I love the gifts that took time, effort, and creativity. Because that means my kids were thinking of me when I wasn’t even around. They were planning ahead for a surprise. For my joy. And that means everything.
Thank goodness for teachers who help make these moments happen.

Makena painted a watercolor of some of my favorite flowers.

Tessa made a little shrink-a-dink note that’s now a keychain—and I swear I’ll keep both forever.

Natalia gave me the gift of time and a hike, which are two of my favorite things. The flowers on the hills were celebrating with us!
Being a mom is hard. It’s messy and thankless sometimes. But then you get these moments—these sweet, small, sacred moments—that bring you back to why you wanted this life in the first place.
Connection. Love. The chance to raise these tiny humans and trust God to fill in the gaps.
Mom: you’re doing better than you think. Lean into the moments. They are the best gift.
