With summer come more options for your feet. Boots go in the closet and the flip flops and sandals come out. There have been way more crocs on feet lately. They’re been around for a while, but have become more popular in the past year or so.
I’ve had my crocs forever. I use them as yard shoes to go out and take care of the chickens, weed my garden, and water my flowers. We walked past a Crocs store recently and my 8-yr-old Tessa had to go inside! There were so many styles and colors, wow! They’ve got sandal styles, boot styles, fuzzy ones, high heeled ones. Of all the things in the store to buy, Tessa invested in a few CROC accessories that attach to the holes. I’ve got to admit, they are pretty cute.
There is a problem though. As you are sporting your old, dingy, uncool crocs in the yard and then end up needing to run around town, you may just totally forget what is on your feet! I’ve gotten to the store in crocs before and it used to be way more embarrassing than it is now that all the kids are wearing them.
I’ve got to believe that’s what happened to Brooke Shields recently as she was spotted at a major red carpet event in yellow crocs. WHAT? Did she even know what was on her feet? Maybe she was out watering some pots in the yard before she left for her event and forgot?
Whether you are using them for slippers, yard shoes, a fashion statement, or in sport mode- crocs are in. And even if they do have a fun and playful element to them that I can appreciate, I still can’t bring myself to actually wear them out! And if I’m missing a major fashion trend and they actually belong on the red carpet, I’m okay with that!
